Description:

The purpose of the Site Engineer is to perform a technical and supervisory role on a construction project, ensuring setting out of the site, applying the relevant designs and plans, resources management and monitoring progress of the project as well as liaising with sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational

  • Read, interpret and use construction drawings and specifications
  • Calculate construction quantities and develop a work plan
  • Surveying and setting out the site
  • Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
  • Liaising with any consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project

Financial

  • Monitor and control cost of the construction work

Operational Efficiency

  • Implement productivity improvement methods

Quality

  • Implement a quality management system, project quality plan and a quality improvement process on a construction project

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Demonstrate an understanding and implement health, safety and environmental initiatives on a construction project

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications Requirements: 

  • National Diploma /Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5years of experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in CCS and other construction software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies is a plus.
